Learning that Zhang Xiu, the military governor of Yongzhou, was stationed at Qiaotou, Jiang Wei planned to proceed via Beidao from Konghan Pass. However, Zhang Xiu intercepted him on this route, so Jiang Wei changed his course and proceeded along the northern road instead. Crossing Qiaotou into Jiange, Zhang Xiu failed to catch up with him. The Qiang Shui further flows southeast, and the Yangbu Shui flows into it. The Yangbu Shui originates from the northeastern Yangbu Xi, flows southwest past Anmin Shu, then turns southwest to flow into the Qiang Shui. It further flows southeast past the southwest of Wujie Cheng, then continues southeast and passes west of Jialu Cheng, where Yangtang Shui flows into it. The river originates from Tang Xi in the northern boundary of Yinping to the northwest, flows southeast past the north of Beibu Cheng, then further southeast and passes south of Wubu Cheng. It converges with Qie Shui on its right side while flowing southeast; this is where the source of the water emerges along the southwest. The Qiang Shui flows past the south of Jialu Cheng and then passes the south of Yu Cheng. Further to the southeast, it converges on its left with Wubu Shui. The river has two sources, originating from the southern and northern Wubu Xi. They flow southwest and converge into one stream, which then turns southeast to flow into Qiang Shui. The Qiang Shui continues flowing southeast until it reaches Qiaotou and merges with Baishui, located 90 li southeast of the old city of Baishui Xian.
